| This client’s
aesthetic sensibility had gone through a drastic change.
Gone was her fascination with the Victorian period, expressed
in antiques and lace, and emerging was a love for the art
and design of Asia. Unfortunately, she didn’t yet
have the funds to express her new affinities in her living
room décor. In order to keep costs down, we retained
the larger pieces of furniture: a fainting couch, love seat
and paw-foot coffee table. Changes include the window treatment,
accent pillows, rug and smaller pieces of furniture (side
chairs and end table). A carved wooden fireplace decoration
from India, along with a vintage painting with an Asian
feel, help focus attention on the feature wall. The final
piece in this puzzle, a new paint job, brightens every element
in the space for a truly delectable effect. |
